I was born in central China, the birthplace of Chinese history, where I was able to immerse in the rich culture and visit historic sites. As the only child in the family, I was given much love and the best education my parents could afford. When I was fourteen, my family moved to Beijing where I attended high school and university. I met a visiting professor, Steve Sessions (a member), during my junior year of university. Steve introduced me to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints upon my arrival to the United States to pursue my Master's Degree at USC. About six months later, I was baptized by the missionaries and received my endowment one year later. I met my husband Ricky at a sacrament meeting and we were sealed in the LA temple within one year of meeting.
Although
not raised up in a religious environment, I chose to believe in Jesus
Christ. To me, faith is as simple as "I believe" and as difficult as
life gets. The Gospel of Jesus Christ taught me to learn and grow, to
appreciate and endure. It is teaching me to slow down on questioning
why, but to seek to ask for guidance in every way. I know that Christ
lives and His love is infinite and eternal. Life's burdens are lifted
when we focus on the light of Christ and the Plan of Salvation. His
invitation to follow him is for everyone, every moment and everywhere.
I'm grateful for knowing that Christ is our Redeemer and repentance and
faith in Him can help bring us closer to Him.
