Sister Melissa Rozsa - That it Might Be Fulfilled

My dear sisters, I am so happy to meet with you today.
Arcadia Stake has always been very special for me.
While growing up in Burbank I often had interaction with your wonderful stake.  I hope you all love and appreciate your Relief Society president, Sue Cornwall. She is a woman of great charity. I first met Sue on a Saturday afternoon several years ago at the door of your
kitchen here in your stake center. She was wearing an apron. She had just prepared a feast for then Elder Dallin H. Oaks. It was simply lovely. Every detail was of great importance. I knew from the moment I met her that I would always love her! Over the years we have stayed in touch. She recently served another delicious meal to Elder Jeffrey R. Holland. But I want you to know a secret.

In 1890 a young baby girl was born in the Mormon settlement called “Stringtown" outside of Mesa Arizona. She was 6th child and 4th daughter born in this family. When she was 6 yrs. old, her father was called on a mission by the Prophet and he was gone for 3 years leaving his family of 9 children and a loving wife. This daughter was born to learn. While her sisters were busy sewing, knitting or quilting, she could be found under a tree in the front yard reading a book. When she was 16 yrs. of age, her parents saved up enough money to send her to Tempe Normal School which later became Arizona State
Teachers College and later Arizona State. She was accompanied by her older brother. She graduated from college in 1911 and went into teaching for many years. She taught in a one room school, on an Indian Reservation, at an elite academy, and retired from teaching in 1959. As a young girl I can remember accompanying her to her position in Deer Valley.

I have never said no to a calling or responsibility as soon as it has been extended to me. Before Sis. Cornwall asked me to teach this class, she asked me how seminary was goi ng for me (as
many of you may know I was recently called to be a seminary teacher). So, I told her that it was one of the hardest things that I have ever done, but this assignment takes the cake! I have an
immeasurable trust in my Stake Priesthood leaders and Stake Relief Society Presidency. They are men and women of God!
Forty years ago President Spencer W. Kimball said, “Much of the major growth that is coming to the church in the last days will come because many of the good women of the world (in whom there is often such an inner sense of spirituality) will be drawn to the church in large numbers. This will happen to the degree that the women of the church reflect righteousness and articulateness in their lives and to the degree that the women of the church are seen as a distinct and different in happy ways from the women of the world.”

How to better let my light shine in a world that needs me.

In 1979, Prophet Spencer W. Kimball declared,
“Much of the major growth that is coming to the Church in the last days will come because many of the good women of the world---will be drawn to the church in large numbers. This will happen to the degree that women of the Church reflect righteousness and articulateness in their lives and to the degree that the women of the church are seen as distinct and different---in happy ways---from the women of the world,”  Sister Eubanks elaborated on this by saying that we can accomplish
this by doing 5 different things:

First: Be Righteous! Being righteous does not mean being “perfect,” At least not in today’s sense of the word. (See Matt. 5:48)

2015 Nelson’s talk, “Do not make the mistake of being drawn off into secondary tasks which will cause the neglect of your eternal assignments. We need women who can detect deception in all its forms, women who know how to make important things happen by their faith.”
Luke 21:34 “take heed…lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with…cares of this life.”
D&C 121:35 Few are chosen “because their hearts are set…upon the things of this world, and aspire to
the honors of men”
Jean B. Bingham, General President of the Relief Society, “It is easy to become distracted by immediate pressures and let more important opportunities slide away.”
What can we do to avoid life’s distractions?

importantes sucedan por su fe “.

LO QUE MAS IMPORTA EN LA VIDA

ESTOY AGRADECIDA POR EL EVANGELIO DE JESUCRISTO QUE ME HA ENSEÑADO
LO QUE SON LAS COSAS MAS IMPORTANTES EN LA VIDA.

CUANDO TENDREMOS UN MOMENTO PARA ENSEÑAR. RELATO DE JULIA Y LARRY

1. Set our priorities in our lives
Quote: When we put God first all other things fall into place or drop out of our lives. Our love of the Lord will govern the claims for our affection, the demand on our time, the interest that we pursue, and the order of our
priorities.

Ezra Taft Benson
Story: In 1992 after the first Rodney King verdict how I learned in a very unlikely setting a truth about following our leaders.

2. We can never know by our actions that we are influencing others. Quote: Never underestimate the influence you have on others. Laurie Buchanan
Story: There are members of the church every day by their example influence countless people without their knowledge.
