Nancy Currie - Duarte Ward

 My name is Nancy Currie, and I’m married to Steve Currie. I’ve been a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for fifty one years. Together we have eight children. Back in February of 1997, I injured my back due to a lifting accident, and was basically bedridden for twenty two years due to chronic pain in my low back, and nerve damage into my legs, and feet..

Last February, while living in a hotel while our home was being remodeled, a miracle happened, and Heavenly Father took my pain away. Words can’t express my gratitude for this amazing blessing. I was afraid that I would go through withdrawals, as I was having to take morphine for the pain. I had a Priesthood blessing, and Heavenly Father said that I wouldn’t have any withdrawals, and I didn’t have any. To me this was another miracle.  I’m so very grateful for my wonderful husband Steve, and Matthew our son, who took care me during this time period.

I realize that this trial has been a blessing for me, as I have learned so very much from it, and so has my family. Heavenly Father will not give us any trial that we can not get through. He gives us abilities beyond our own to endure them, and I believe Heavenly help also, as we ask to be able to endure them. Though I have lost most of my teeth through this experience, I grateful that I’m now in the process of getting some
replacement teeth.

May we all endure the trials of this life, that we may be able to rejoice in Heaven together with our Savior Jesus Christ, and our Heavenly Father. Though we’re now in the process of moving to southern Utah, we will always cherish the memories of being in the Arcadia Stake. Until we meet again someday in heaven, may God bless all
