Sister Skyler Kelley - Temple City Ward

Hey Everyone! I'm Skyler Kelley and I grew up in Temple City, California! I am currently a missionary serving in the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission and it's been quite the adventure!

Earlier this week, as we were driving in the car, I looked out and saw a Kelley Boulevard street sign! I've never seen a street sign with my name on it! This made me so excited and we just had to stop to take a picture. Names are so important. They always have been and always will be! I want to briefly share my testimony of the most important name in the history of mankind, Jesus Christ.

Once you are set apart as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, you are given a black name tag to wear. This tag has two things, your name and Jesus Christ's name. This tag shows who and what you represent. At first, it was an adjustment to wear a tag that made me stand out so much, the awkward stares and quick look aways made things a little difficult in my first few weeks as a missionary. But here's the thing that I realized soon after those few weeks: even when I have felt alone, defeated, broken, unlovable, helpless or embarrassed, my Savior, Jesus Christ has stood beside me and has never abandoned me. He loves me unconditionally and continually goes before me. He knows me.

That's why I decided to serve a mission, and that's why I decided to make a change and wear His name over my heart with confidence and virtue! Even though for the next year I will physically wear His name, I know His name is written on my heart forever. How do you write Christ's name upon your heart?
