Lorraine Reynolds - Arcadia Ward

I met my husband Zac in high school and his testimony led me to the church. Although my family was unhappy about my decision, they allowed me to be baptized when I was 17. After Zac came home from his mission, we were married in the Mesa Arizona temple and have 4 beautiful (and a bit wild) children.

We have moved 5 times as a couple and are about to have our 6th move. Of all the worries of moving, I have never worried that we would feel alone. Being a member of the church means that the day you move in, you have about 200 new friends. Moving to Arcadia was no different. But during the pandemic there have been times when I felt alone. In April 2018, Jean B. Bingham taught in a General Conference talk that “Sometimes we think we have to do something grand and heroic to “count” as serving our neighbors. Yet simple acts of service can have profound effects on others—as well as on ourselves.” I have felt these small acts of service from our ward members during my dark times and it has helped me feel the love of Christ.
