Sue Carey - Duarte

 I grew up in Monrovia, CA and graduated from Monrovia High School.  I met my husband, Rich Carey while attending the church’s young adult activities at the Pasadena City College Institute.  We’ve been married 43 years and have a daughter, Elizabeth and a son, Richard.  One of my favorite things in life was raising my two children.  Our family had the privilege of living in Hawaii on the island of Oahu by the Laie Hawaii Temple, Polynesian Cultural Center and B.Y.U. Hawaii campus for 9 years while our children were growing up.  That experience taught us a lot about many different cultures, of which  we still continue to cherish. 

My parents were converts to the church a few years before I was born.  They were wonderful examples to me and helped din my growing a testimony of the Gospel.  I love my Heavenly Father and the Savior and have always felt so happy to be a church member.  I'm very grateful to be a woman of covenants in this day and age of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.
