Sister Alondra Miramontes is from the Temple City Ward and will be
addressing the subject of The Joy of Education and Lifelong Learning.
She will be teaching in Spanish. "Sister Miramontes was born in
Burbank, California and was raised in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.
Her mother was a convert of the church and with some opposition from
her father, Sister Miramontes was able to get baptized at 8 years old
(spoiler alert! 20 years later her father finally got baptized too).
After accepting the call of being a disciple of Jesus Christ, she has
had the opportunity to serve The Lord in many callings such as Primary,
work with the Youth, Sunday School, Relief Society, Seminary and Family
History. But none of these callings have made her go above and beyond
her comfort zone as being a mother of two boys who bring to her life the
roller coaster needed to move forward every day. Sister Miramontes has a
Bachelor of Science in Biology and started a Master’s Degree in
Aquaculture,
which was paused after her first pregnancy (due to
chemical exposure). She also has an Associate’s Degree in
Histotechnology and works for the Pathology Department of Keck USC. Her
testimony of Jesus Christ brings her the true joy the world d
oes not
provide and the faith to be in the path of her duty."
